Hokie pitching and defensive collapse leaves 8 runs on the board to count as a loss. The spiral continues.
How do you fix something so broken that a team scores 8 runs and still loses? The Hokie pitching staff and defense loses an embarrassing match up with William and Mary. Like I have said before, baseball isn't football, and the differences between the physical performance characteristics of smaller schools' teams are less pronounced.
There was nothing in the cards that would say that we would lose to William and Mary. We should have won this one. Eight runs is normally more than enough crossing the plate to end up an 8 ½ inning home outing.
