In 2006, on Halloween night, 18-year-old Nikki Catsouras was behind the wheel of her father's Porsche 911 Carrera, speeding at over 100 miles per hour. In a reckless attempt to change lanes, she collided with another vehicle, losing control of the car. The Porsche veered across the highway's median, careening into a concrete toll booth.
When authorities arrived shortly after the crash, they discovered Catsouras's body still strapped into the driver's seat. However, her head had been severed from her body in the impact. The devastation was so severe that the coroner prohibited Catsouras's parents from identifying her remains, yet tragically, they later came face to face with the harrowing scene.
