BLACKSBURG – In the first ever games between the two schools, the Virginia Tech baseball team registered victories of 9-2 and 9-4 over Alcorn State on Saturday evening in nonconference action at English Field at Union Park. Nick Anderson and Ryan Tufts led the offense for the Hokies, while they also got solid pitching performance from all four men who took the mound.
Anderson drove in five in the first game, which included a three-run home run in the eighth frame, while Tufts hit a three-run home run in the fifth frame of the second game – his second of the game.
