CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Virginia Tech used an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter to knot the game up at 50 before Virginia won the game from the free throw line, pulling out a 61-52 victory at John Paul Jones Arena.
The loss moves the Hokies to 13-7, 2-5 in conference play ahead of two home games next week.
“Obviously we came in here in a hostile environment and I thought we played hard enough to win,” head coach Kenny Brooks said. “I don’t think we played smart enough to win. We didn’t capitalize on some of the opportunities that we had.
