CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – In the final game of the regular season for the Virginia Tech baseball team, the Hokies’ starting pitcher Jon Woodcock notched a quality start, however Virginia’s starter Adam Haseley outdueled him and led his team to a 4-1 victory Saturday evening in ACC action at Davenport Field.
After a shaky first inning, Woodcock allowed just one unearned run over the next six frames and, at one point, retired 10 Cavaliers in a row. Paul Hall, Jr. and Ryan Lauria also each tossed a scoreless inning of relief to keep Virginia’s offense off the board, as the three combined to allow just two walks over the final six innings.
