BLACKSBURG – Behind a new career-high 28 points from Regan Magarity, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team defeated Radford 68-42, Sunday afternoon at Carilion Clinic Court.
It was the Hokies’ eighth consecutive victory over the Highlanders, the longest streak in the series’ history.
Leading by just six points at the half, Tech used a 16-6 advantage in the third quarter to pull away from a scrappy Radford team.
“You give a lot of credit to Radford. Mike McGuire does a tremendous job over there,” Tech coach Kenny Brooks said. “What they want to do is force you to play at their tempo, and when that happens, you become a little bit disjointed because we like to get it out and go.
