Both games were outstanding, but the atmospheres were insane.
About this time last year, we were laser focused on the Buckeyes game. In arguably Beamer's biggest win, the Hokies went to the Horseshoe and defeated the eventual national champions. When Ohio State came a calling, the Hokies ran out of gas in the second half. My two big takeaways for both games was one of awe. The Ohio State Buckeyes have a long and rich college football history. The biggest crowd in Columbus to see them play? The Hokies were in town. While we didn't set records in Blacksburg when Urban Meyer led his team on the field, it's hard to argue with this:
The game didn't go our way, but roll the calendar back a year, and you get this:
These teams need to play every season.
