BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech starting pitcher Kit Scheetz registered his fourth quality start of the 2016 campaign on Friday night against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but the Hokies could not support his effort and dropped a 6-2 decision in ACC action at English Field at Union Park.
Scheetz tossed 6.1 innings, his second longest outing of the season, and struck out a season-high tying six batters – also tying the most he’s struck out in an ACC game – and allowed only three earned runs. Out of the bullpen, Ryan Lauria pitched the final 2.
