Well, at least Brent Pry didn’t have to bathe in mayonnaise. That’s my instant takeaway after the Minnesota Golden Gophers defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies 24-10 in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Friday.
Coming into the Mayo Bowl, we knew this could be ugly. The Hokies were without Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Kyron Drones, Jaylin Lane, Bhayshul Tuten, Da’Quan Felton, Xavier Chaplin, Aeneas Peebles, Dorian Strong, Mansoor Delane and others for the game. Three members of Virginia Tech’s offensive line, which wasn’t very good to begin with, were gone for this game, with Chaplin now in Auburn and the Moore brothers gone.
