Virginia Tech’s special teams resurgence continues with the commitment of long-snapper Oscar Shadley.
Shadley is a 6’2″, 230-pound prospect from Golden Gate High School in Naples (Fla). Long-snapping guru Chris Rubio rates him as the top long-snapper in this class. That makes Shadley a five-star prospect on Rubio’s talent evaluation scale.
Shadley was named the speed champion in drills this spring at Rubio’s camp. That’s an incredibly valuable attribute for a long-snapper when it comes to punt coverage.
The Tech commitment comes over scholarship offers from Oregon, Marshall, and Florida International. Shadley also visited North Carolina and N.
