Jack resigns as Tech's throws coach

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Wednesday that longtime track and field associate head coach and throws coach Greg Jack has resigned his position within the Hokies’ track and field program to pursue other career opportunities.

Jack came to Virginia Tech in 2001, joining Dave Cianelli, who had taken over as the Virginia Tech’s director of track and field and cross country. Jack’s throwers combined to win 13 national championships during his tenure, including one this past outdoor season when Irena Sediva captured the national title in the women’s javelin at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in Eugene, Oregon.
