The Hokies battled a tough Northwestern team Tuesday night as part of the ACC Big 10 Challenge. Northwestern came into the game a 7 point favorite, and early on they looked like they’d cover that spread, finishing the first half up by 9. The Hokies battled back, were able to make up the 9 point deficit, and after a last second half court buzzer beater banged off the rim for the Hokies, the game headed into overtime.

The five minutes of post-regulation play could have gone to either team. It seemed as if time was going to be the deciding factor, and surely had there been two or three more minutes of play, the Hokies could have easily found a way to win.
