BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is headed to the postseason for the first time since 2007 and will host the CAA’s Elon on Thursday, March 17 in the opening round of the 2016 Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
Tech posted a 17-13 mark this season and had wins over NCAA team Tennessee as well as fellow WNIT participants, Virginia and Wake Forest. Elon finished the season with an 18-12 record and is making its second consecutive appearance in the WNIT.
Game time will be announced the afternoon of Tuesday, March 15 by the WNIT.
