CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Junior Sidney Cook tallied 23 points, 14 rebounds to lead the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team over in-state rival Virginia, 66-46 on Sunday afternoon at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The win snapped UVA’s 18-game series win streak and improved the Hokies to 15-8 on the season and 3-7 in ACC play. Virginia falls to 13-11 and 3-7 in the league.
Cook’s 23 points and 14 rebounds marks one of the best performances in the Hokies’ history with UVA. Former Tech players Uju Ugoka and Tere Williams had 21 points, 10 rebounds in 2014 and 1998, respectively.
