GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team dropped its game against Boston College in the opening round of the 2016 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, 48-37 on Wednesday night.
The 11th-seeded Hokies struggled offensively as they shot just 13-of-59 (22.0 percent) from the field for the game. Defensively, they forced 23 Boston College turnovers and had an 18-7 advantage in points off turnovers but were unable to overcome a narrow second half deficit.
“I want to credit BC,” said head coach Dennis Wolff. “It was a hard fought game and they had a good game plan.
