BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team fell to visiting North Carolina State, 72-61 on Thursday night at Cassell Coliseum.
“I credit NC State,” head coach Dennis Wolff said. “I think their offensive toughness was better than our defensive toughness, so I think that was the story of the game. Midway through the second period and into the third period we got ourselves into a hole we had trouble getting out of.”
With the loss, the Hokies are now 14-4 overall and 2-3 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Wolfpack improve to 14-6 and 5-2 in the ACC.
