PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Pittsburgh pitching staff again silenced the Virginia Tech Hokies’ bats as the Panthers registered a 7-0 victory in ACC action Friday night at Charles L. Cost Field and claimed the series over Tech. However, the Hokies are stil alive for the ACC postseason championship.
Pittsburgh (20-31, 9-20 ACC) scored all the runs the team needed with one swing of the bat in the first inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, Ron Sherman hit a bases-clearing triple then came home on a Jordan Frabasilio single that made it 4-0 after one inning.
