WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team looked to make a fourth quarter run, but Big East foe Georgetown held off the late surge as Tech fell 73-56 in a road contest on Wednesday at McDonough Arena in Washington, D.C.
Hannah Young tallied a double-double for the Hokies with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Vanessa Panousis led Tech in the scoring column with 14 points while Chanette Hicks tallied 10.
“I’m disappointed in our lack of toughness,” head coach Dennis Wolff said. “Between turning the ball over and not making good decisions on offense we allowed them to just push us out of the way and gave them too many second shots.
