The women's soccer team rolled past Syracuse on Sunday afternoon with a score of 3-1, after they gained an early lead and refused to trail the whole game.
With the win, the Hokies have moved up to No. 9 in the rankings. They are now 10-1-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
The Hokies began the game with a quick start by scoring in the 16th minute of the game. Candace Cephers scored off of a corner kick from Jordan Coburn for a 1-0 lead. About eight minutes later, Michelle Tiernan scored her ninth goal of the season, off of a free kick from Coburn, giving the Hokies a 2-0 lead.
