BLACKSBURG – Fourteen Virginia Tech track and field student-athletes were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for track and field as announced by ACC Commissioner John Swofford on Wednesday.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The 14 Tech athletes on the All-Academic were the second-most of any ACC school except for Duke. That contingent included 10 members of the Hokies’ ACC champion men’s team, which also represented the most of any school.
