Former Tech standout Renee Dennis passes away

BLACKSBURG – Former Virginia Tech standout Renee Dennis passed away on August 4 in Bridgeport, Connecticut following illness.

“The Virginia Tech basketball family was saddened to learn that Renee had passed away,” head coach Dennis Wolff said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends during this time.”

Dennis is Tech's career scoring leader with 1,791 points and holds the record for points in a home game with 34 against Memphis in 1987. She also has the highest career scoring average (15.6) in addition to holding career records in field-goal attempts (1,461) and free-throw attempts (638).
