BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA – Virginia Tech concluded the 2017-18 basketball season in front of a record crowd of 13,007 at Assembly Hall in the WNIT Championship game, falling just short of the title, 65-57.
Taylor Emery led all scorers in the game with 23 points on 8 of 16 shooting, but it was the Hoosiers who went home with the hardware as four starters scored in double figures and timely 3-point shooting in the fourth quarter earned the Hoosiers a WNIT crown.
Tech struggle early finding an offensive rhythm and never truly seemed to find the same groove it had been in on this postseason run, committing 17 turnovers.
