After only one year with the Virginia Tech Hokies the four star, quarterback recruit from Tamp Bay is leaving Blacksburg. It is being reported that the 6'6" 230 pound sophomore failed multiple drug tests, which would have resulted in a substantial suspension if he remained at VT. Although it has been intimated that JUCO transfer, Jerod Evans, and veteran senior, Brendan Motley, are the front runners for the starting job in 2016, Lawson was expected to be a factor in the competition - if not this year - then in coming seasons.
