NORFOLK, Va. – The Virginia Tech Hokies concluded the Old Dominion Baseball Tournament by using another offensive outburst to defeat Manhattan, 12-7, at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex Saturday afternoon.
Matt Dauby knocked in a career-high four runs, while Max Ponzurick and Joe Freiday, Jr. each added a two RBIs for the Hokies, who jumped out to a five-run advantage in the top of the first and held the lead the entire way.
Jon Woodcock came out of the pen and tossed 3.1 innings of relief to pick up the win and is now 1-1, while Ryan Takacs suffered the loss for the Jaspers and is 0-1.
