BLACKSBURG – Senior Matt Dauby hit his second home run in as many games to help Virginia Tech baseball to a 5-0 lead, but the visiting No 25-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers capitalized on three Hokie errors to score four unearned runs and leave English Field at Union Park with an 8-6 nonconference victory Tuesday evening.
Dauby’s three-run shot capped a Tech four-run third inning that included Tom Stoffel scoring from third on a wild pitch. He also hit a two-run shot Saturday against Georgia Tech. Mac Caples scored an inning before on a sac bunt by Rahiem Cooper and the Hokies jumped out 5-0.
