It was another great weekend for Virginia Tech sports. Spring football practice continued, men’s basketball coach Mike Young landed an impact transfer, and the baseball and softball teams keep winning.
Let’s start with the softball team. The Hokies marched into Raleigh on a 10-game winning streak, jumped on the N.C. State Wolfpack early in each of the three games of the weekend series and finish with another sweep. Tech won 10-2, 3-0, and 10-0. The two shutouts were Virginia Tech’s 16th and 17th shutouts of the season. The Hokies improved to 32-5 and 11-1 in ACC play.
Cori McMillan had four hits in Friday’s win, while Zoe Yaeger knocked in three runs.
