Mercifully, the 2024-25 season is over for the Virginia Tech Hokies’ men’s basketball program.
The Hokie fell to California 82-73 in double overtime on Tuesday in the opening round of the ACC Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina. The loss dropped the Hokies to 13-19, ending a disappointing season with no postseason berth.
This was a competitive battle throughout, with Virginia Tech leading 34-31 at halftime. The Golden Bears jumped on Tech early in the second half, scoring eight points in a row to take a five-point lead. The Hokies did not score in the first five minutes of the half.
