Justin Fuente and his coaching staff at Virginia Tech have made signing quarterbacks a priority over his short time with the Hokies.
Monday afternoon’s signing of 3-star quarterback Quincy Patterson continued the trend, as the 6’4″, 232 lbs. Chicago product committed to the Hokies over UNC, Penn State, and the University of Central Florida, among others.
Patterson’s style of throwing and running mirrors that of former Virginia Tech quarterback Jerod Evans on film. There is a bit of an unorthodox throwing motion from Patterson, but it is a workable arm slot that can be smoothed out with a year of development as a redshirt player when he arrives on campus in the fall of 2018.
