It seemed like one of those games that Virginia Cavaliers fans have gotten used to over the past two years under Tony Elliott.
Virginia was making mistakes on all three sides of the ball, coaching decisions seemed questionable at best, Wake Forest was getting anything they wanted on the offensive side, and Virginia players were going down due to injuries left and right on defense.
When I say “gotten used to,” I mean this is just how it has gone for the past two years. Virginia has lost eight one-possession games since Tony Elliott took over before the 2022 season.
