Heading into the home stretch of the regular season, the Virginia Cavaliers men’s lacrosse team sits at 0-3 in the ACC and 5-7 overall, with a clear theme emerging amid the struggles of the past two weeks – and it’s not a lack of talent.
The ‘Hoos started off hot against Syracuse, building a multi-goal lead from the first faceoff and later finishing the half still up two. They weathered an early first quarter run against North Carolina to pull back even and eventually hit the locker room in Chapel Hill down only three. And, in the latest loss at Notre Dame, an unfamiliar strategy of slowing the down the pace kept the ‘Hoos competitive throughout the first half.
