Last weekend, the Virginia Cavaliers basketball program added their first transfer of the 2024 offseason: former Florida State guard Jalen Warley. In his third season in Tallahassee, he averaged 7.5 points, 2.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game.
Warley epitomized the Jekyll and Hyde Florida State squad last year, having the ability to pop off on a given night but also get completely shut down. In addition to three separate games of 18+ points, Warley was held without a field goal in five of his 32 starts.
That said, Warley is a good fit for both Tony Bennett’s philosophy and Virginia’s current roster needs.
