WATCH: 2017’s “One Shining Moment”

The North Carolina Tar Heels won their sixth NCAA title with a 71-65 victory over the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Joel Berry led the Heels with 22 points on 7-for-19 shooting in a game punctuated with whistles. Neither team really got into a rhythm in the second half with both teams struggling with foul trouble.

Although both teams struggled from the floor with Gonzaga and North Carolina shooting 34% and 36%, respectively, the game was close throughout. Gonzaga led by three at the half and were within one with 1:40 remaining. A controversial jump ball possession by Kennedy Meeks gave UNC the ball back late, which led to a Theo Pinson bucket.
