BLACKSBURG, Va. — Anthony Gill was having none of the notion that No. 4 Virginia got a wake-up call when it showed up at Virginia Tech, was sloppy with the ball and had a furious final-minutes comeback fall short in a 70-68 loss Monday night.
“We already had our wake-up call,” Gill said, referring to Virginia’s loss at George Washington in its second game of the season. “It’s just another hit in the mouth to let us know we’re not who we think we are, and in order for us to be the team that we want to be, we’re going to have to be on our game every night.
