The first two rounds came and went without Eli Harold's name getting called. The former Virginia defensive end had some first-round hype, so the fact that Harold wasn't selected until the third round by the San Francisco 49ers was somewhat surprising.
"I’ve heard some first-round buzz, but I’ve heard more second round," Harold told Andrew Ramspacher of The Daily Progress before the draft.
"I’m surprised he lasted that long," NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said, per Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
