Virginia's Anthony Poindexter nominated on the 2017 College Football Hall of Fame Ballot

The former Cavalier and consensus All-American is one of 75 players to make the list.

The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame have released the names of the nominees on the 2017 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. The list includes 75 players and six coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision, including former Virginia safety Anthony Poindexter.

At Virginia, Poindexter was a two-time first team All-American, including consensus honors in 1998. He was named the 1998 ACC Defensive Player of the Year and still holds multiple school records. Despite being projected as a late first-round NFL Draft pick in 1998, Poindexter stayed at Virginia for his senior season.
