She has yet to serve a game as the head coach of the Virginia Women’s Basketball team, but Tina Thompson is still hauling in the accolades. Thompson is one of 12 honorees inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Friday (September 7) evening. Earlier this summer, Thompson was a member of the 2018 class inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist (2004 and 2008), a four-time WNBA champion with the Houston Comets, and in 2011 was named one of the top-15 WNBA players of all time.
