The Cavaliers jumped out to a 21 point lead early, then barely held off a desperate rally from the Blue Devils late to capture their fourth victory of the year.
At several points Saturday afternoon, it looked like Virginia (4-7, 3-4) was going to run away with a victory against the Duke Blue Devils (6-5, 3-4). The Hoos used a suddenly potent passing offense to score touchdowns on their first three possessions, and maintain a two possession advantage until halfway into the fourth quarter. Instead of winning in a route, the Cavaliers were forced to hold on for dear life against a charging Duke offense.
