Virginia’s slow and steady climb in the AP Poll continues as the Cavaliers are up to No. 8 this week. The Hoos started the season at No. 4, but fell after losing a neutral site game to San Francisco back in November. Now 10-2 with a 6-0 mark in the ACC, Virginia is back in the top-10.
Gonzaga, Baylor, and Villanova held strong in spots No. 1-3, followed by now-paused Michigan at No. 4, and Texas at No. 5. Houston and Iowa come in just before the Hoos, and Alabama and Texas Tech round out the top-10.
The Cavaliers still have four — maybe five — games against teams currently in the top-25, depending on whether or not Virginia’s home tilt against the Hokies gets rescheduled.
