The men’s lacrosse program is used to winning NCAA championships. For former Virginia Cavalier attackman and midfielder Matt Moore, the trend has continued into the professional ranks of the sport.
On Sunday, Moore and the Utah Archers defeated the Maryland Whipsnakes 12-8 in the Premier Lacrosse League championship in Philadelphia. The win marked Moore’s second consecutive PLL title with Utah after being drafted fourth overall in the 2022 PLL Draft.
The Garnet Valley, PA native helped pace the Utah offense with two goals and an assist, including beating his defender underneath for sweet inside finish to open the scoring for his team in the first quarter.
