Tony Bennett and the Virginia Cavaliers have reached out to Kenny Williams, a local 6' 3" guard from Chesterfield, VA, per a report from Scout.com.
A confluence of post-NCAA Tournament events has led to Virginia's recruitment of Williams. After committing to the VCU Rams, Williams re-opened his recruitment when Shaka Smart moved on to Texas. And, after the transfer of BJ Stith to ODU and Justin Anderson's decision to declare for the NBA Draft, Virginia suddenly had two open scholarships for 2016.
Virginia is a late player in William's recruitment. When he committed to VCU last summer, he chose the Rams over UNC, while also considering Georgetown, Indiana, and VT among other schools.
