Virginia commit Shane Panzini has been drafted 108th overall in the fourth round by the Kansas City Royals. He’s the second Virgiia commit to be selected in the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft after Benny Montgomery went eighth overall to the Colorado Rockies.
The pick carries with it a slot value bonus of 538K and it’s highly unlikely that he’d turn down that opportunity and play for the Cavaliers.
Panzini is a 6-3 right handed pitcher out of Red Bank Catholic High School in Spring Lake, New Jersey and committed to Virginia in his sophomore year.
