Celebrations over beating a top-10 team didn’t last too long Tuesday night in Charlottesville. As Virginia men’s basketball Coach Tony Bennett bemoaned his team’s not-quite-there-yet defense after Tuesday’s 66-58 win over No. 8 Miami, he acknowledged that recalibrating after consecutive losses was great, but the Cavaliers haven’t been a strong, consistent team away from John Paul Jones Arena.
All three of the Cavaliers losses this season, stretching back to George Washington’s upset of then-No. 6 Virginia in the second game of the season, have been in enemy territory. Next up is a trip to Florida State on Sunday.
