All good things must come to an end. The AP Top 25 Preseason poll was released today, and for the first time in 64 weeks, the Virginia Cavaliers were not included. The Wahoos cracked the Top 25 February 3, 2014, and hasn’t been left out since. Virginia received 57 votes in this week’s poll, good enough for #27.
The Duke Blue Devils took the top spot, followed by Michigan State, Arizona, Kansas, and Kentucky. All of the top five earned at least one vote for number one, except Kentucky.
Virginia will face #1 Duke, #9 North Carolina, #11 West Virginia, #13 Miami, #14 Notre Dame, and #16 Louisville this season, along with Virginia Tech and Wisconsin which both received votes.
