The Virginia Cavaliers fell to 2-2 on Friday night, as the No. 7 Oregon State Beavers took care of business with a 7-2 victory.
Jay Woolfolk got the nod for the ‘Hoos and it was a similar story to last weekend. The senior right-hander was able to limit damage by continuously escaping jams, but failed to go deep into the game due to a high pitch count. Woolfolk lasted just three innings, responsible for two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks, and striking out six.
Ultimately, the Oregon State offense kept chipping away and managed to compile three runs in the fifth and an additional two in the eighth against the UVA bullpen.
