The Cavaliers haven't had to worry about their bats contributing enough to win games this season. Outside of one game to East Carolina, the Hoos have scored at least four runs in every other game this season. They certainly had not been shutout. That came to an end on Sunday in the series finale against Duke as the Hoos fell 3-0.
Ultimately, Duke outbattled the Cavaliers as their starter threw a complete game shutout allowing only five hits and not issuing a walk all day. Duke's McAfee worked excellently at pitching to contact all day only striking out three over his nine innings.
