The No. 21 ranked Virginia Cavaliers upset the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions 2-1 on Thursday night. Maggie Cagle notched both of UVA’s goals in the road upset as the junior forward propelled her team to a 3-0-0 record on the young season.
PSU got on the board first in the 15th minute when Kaitlyn MacBean canned a goal after Olivia Damico sent a ball into the box which the Wahoo defense mishandled.
Although the Cavaliers trailed for the remainder of the first half, Cagle scored twice in a 12 minute span to put Virginia up for good.
