Considering that UVA looks to have more of a ground-and-pound, smash-mouth style of offense this season, the running game will have to improve from last year. Expectations were high for the rushing attack last year with the return of 1000 yard rusher Kevin Parks, but the inexperienced offensive line struggled to open up rushing lanes for Parks and the other talented backs, as the offense faltered to a 3.7 yard-per-carry average. Now, it will be up to the former highly touted recruit Taquan Mizzell and Maryland transfer Albert Reid, among others, to replace the productivity of last year’s top backs, Kevin Parks and Khalek Shepherd.
