UVA baseball takes game one against Kansas State in Super Regional

Charlottesville, VA - A beautiful night for baseball, high 70s, and sunny to start the Super Regional matchup between the Virginia Cavaliers and the Kansas State Wildcats.

That same sun (the one and only sun) caused UVA to face an early deficit as Bobby Whalen lost a routine flyball hit by Brendan Jones, resulting in a triple, and then Jacob Parson quickly turned that into a run with a groundout RBI.

Evan Blanco looked great on the mound early. His fastball was hitting 92 MPH and Kansas State was either whiffing or hoping as Blanco cruised through the first two innings with 3ks and only one “hit” and one “earned” run.
