In the past six seasons for the Virginia Cavaliers men’s lacrosse team, opportunities to play the underdog role have been few and far between. While recent UVA teams have had the luxury of steamrolling through non-conference play, this year’s squad looks a little different at the end of March.
Currently sitting at 5-4 and lacking anything resembling a signature win, the ‘Hoos welcome the eighth-ranked Syracuse Orange (7-2) to Klöckner Stadium on Saturday. The Orange are winners of their last four games and travel South hungry to kick off conference play with a victory to prove to the lacrosse world that they are fully capable of winning the league for the first time since 2018.
