Thoughts on football’s win, Ryan Zimmerman hosts event, and men’s squash takes a huge step forward

It was a good weekend for both football and men’s basketball, as they defeated Liberty and George Washington, respectively. For football, the victory guaranteed the program a winning season for the first time since 2011.

Doug Doughty of the Roanoke Times noted some of the takeaways from football’s victory over the weekend, highlighting the importance of Juan Thornhill’s playmaking, the emergence of Devante Cross, and the team’s general ability in pass defense.

Former Virginia Cavalier and current Washington National Ryan Zimmerman held a charity bowling event over the weekend with proceeds going towards the ziMS foundation.
